BackPack

How It Works
The SwitchBack's patent-pending BackPack Technology allows the user to incorporate multiple devices into a single BackPack. The BackPack attaches onto the back of the computer and interfaces to the SwitchBack™ through a special ultra-wide, high-speed connection.

The SwitchBack's design is so flexible that almost any electronic peripheral can be designed to interface with it. Customers can order a variety of BackPack configurations, one of which is the Standard BackPack, which includes VGA output, a Serial Port, type II PCMCIA, Audio In/Out and USB 2.0.
The FlexPack BackPack
In addition, customers can choose to utilize RMT's FlexPack BackPack for rapid development. The FlexPack BackPack includes a standard set of electronic interfaces that allows product developers to customize peripherals and connections for their specific needs. The FlexPack allows for a rapid product development cycle, reduced cost of ownership and a faster return on investment. The FlexPack BackPack includes:

- All necessary electrical and mechanical documentation to begin your own custom BackPack development
- Pre-engineered circuit card assembly with a wide range of interfaces that can quickly be adapted to virtually any external device
- Proven BackPack development process with engineering support, available with purchase of the SwitchBack Module Development Kit
The FlexPack can be purchased with a 7-pin connector providing either 28V power input plus an Ethernet port (FlexPack MA-4100), or 16V power input plus USB 2.0 (FlexPack MA-4070).
