Computer Controlled Air Data Test System 2

CCADTS: Computer Controlled Air Data Test System 2

Curtiss-Wright Controls Integrated Sensing (CWCIS) have been designing and manufacturing Air Data Products since 1955. Our CCADTS-2 is a totally self-contained unit incorporating vacuum and pressure sources for all modes of testing and is able to provide a complete system including, Test Set, hoses, distribution hoses and pre-set aircraft test programmes.

With a rugged construction, the CCADTS-2 is suitable for use in Avionics Repair Shops, for 1st line on aircraft applications, or 2nd and 3rd line workshop applications. The accuracy of the CCADTS-2 also makes it suitable for testing and calibration of aircraft systems and components to the new accuracy required for Reduced Vertical Separation Minima (RVSM).

The CCADTS-2 is designed to be operated by one person only, and will perform all testing functions which simulate aircraft flying characteristics throughout the entire flight envelope of the aircraft and is sufficiently accurate to visually calibrate cockpit instruments in situ, without the need to remove them from the aircraft. It will carry out leak testing of the complete Pitot/Static system in the aircraft, test and calibrate Altitude, Airspeed, Vertical Speed Indicator/s and Air Data Computers (ADCs) which provide signal outputs for Automatic Flight Control Systems (AFCS), Navigation Systems, Ground Proximity Warning Systems (GPWS) and Weapons Control Systems, as well as testing Engine Pressure Ratios, Pressure Sensors, Altitude, Airspeed and Cabin Pressure Switches.

Totally self-contained, CCADTS 2 incorporates vacuum and pressure sources for all modes of testing. In-cockpit control and monitoring is made efficient and convenient via a hand-held remote control and display unit. Menu-driven set up and test, and pre-programmed test routines reduce turnaround times, while programmable limits ensure that aircraft testing procedures are safe at all times.

Various optional items are available to enhance the operational effectiveness of the CCADTS 2, and these typically include the pitot/static distribution box (manifold assembly), which enables up to four separate pitot/static connection pairs to be attached to the aircraft simultaneously. This provides the capability to switch between aircraft systems electrically, controlled from the hand-held RCDU (e.g. Pilot´s system, Co-pilot´s system, Auxiliary 1 and Auxiliary 2). It makes testing of larger aircraft very simple, detecting the exact location of system leaks for immediate rectification, and carrying out testing and calibration of each system without wasting time disconnecting and reconnecting hoses between tests.
