Landing Craft Air Cushion

Textron Marine & Land's Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) is the cornerstone of the U.S. amphibious program and a revolutionary means for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps to land at more than 80 percent of the world's shorelines. As evidenced by successful operations in Somalia, Bangladesh, Liberia, Haiti, Lebanon, Iraq and Kuwait, LCAC is combat-proven. It has also proven invaluable in times of disaster, including tsunami and hurricane relief operations.
The LCAC is a high-speed, over-the-beach fully amphibious landing craft capable of carrying up to 75 tons of payload at speeds over 40 knots. The versatile LCAC can traverse snow, marsh, ice, tundra and sand. On land, it can traverse obstacles as high as four feet. In mission ranging from transporting cargo to minesweeping, the LCAC is designed to function in extreme conditions ranging from Arctic cold to Sahara heat.
