Optics
FLIR designs and manufactures a wide range of infrared and visible optical components and coatings, for applications in our own products and as a supplier of state-of-the-art technology to the EO/IR industry.
Brysen Optical is a division of FLIR Systems specializing in the production of precision optics. FLIR's Brysen capabilities include optical coatings, reticles, photolithography capabilities, assemblies and surface quality standards.
- 9 Coating Chambers that utilize Thermal, E-gun and Ion Assisted Deposition technologies and can handle planets up to 16 inches in diameter.
- A Photolithographic Laboratory that can produce micron sized patterns of varying complexities for use in reticles, cross hairs, alignment patterns, resolution patterns, optical targets and slits, QC patterns, encoder disks, etc.
- An optical glass shop for grinding, polishing, cutting and core-drilling components to sizes as small as 0.8mm.
- An in-house CAD design machine shop for rapid design and fabrication of specialized tooling and test-fixtures for quantities from prototype to production.
- Optical and Coating design assistance is a Brysen speciality with our staff of optical engineers utilizing industry thin film design software including industry recognized TFCALC, ESSENTIAL MACLEOD and FILMSTAR.
- Environmental testing per various MIL SPECS is a standard offering by using our temperature, shock and humidity chambers.
