The Ultra 8000e is a special stabilized thermal imaging system designed for aerial location of fugitive gas leaks. The system is a combination of our powerful 250mm continuous zoom gimbal with FLIR’s latest GasFindIR sensor payload, allowing you to see fugitive volatile organic chemical leaks from the air.

Fugitive Emission Detection System

The Ultra 8000e is a stabilized thermal imaging system designed for environmental protection, improved pipeline and processing plant safety and economic loss prevention through the aerial location of fugitive gases. Many dangerous VOC gases can be seen with the specially tuned mid-wave sensor inside the Ultra 8000e, even from long ranges. The system allows you to rapidly scan large areas or miles of pipeline and to capture thermal and visible imagery, regardless of aircraft movement. It is packaged in FLIR’s compact, 9” gimbal weighing less than 30lbs, and STC approved installations exist for most aircraft. Over 1,000 of FLIR’s compact gimbals have been fielded. It is also well-suited to environmental management for pollution detection, underground steam leaks and right of way management.
