ThermoVision ThermoSight II

The ThermoSight II is designed to augment the daylight operation of a Trijicon 4x32 Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight (known as an ACOG) with an infrared camera, extending the useful period of operation from daylight into nighttime conditions. By mounting the sight directly ahead of the ACOG, the user can view the same scene through the unit, but now has the ability to sense infrared energy (heat) and see in the dark. The sight can also be used in standalone mode with a separate eyepiece but without the ACOG or the weapon, handheld to allow surveying of the area to provide situational awareness.

The ThermoSight II utilizes an uncooled 640x480 microbolometer camera that is sensitive to infrared radiation between 8 and 12 microns. Because it is uncooled, the camera is ready to use immediately after turning the unit on. A manual focus barrel and a keypad on the top of the unit provide the operator with controls to optimize the infrared image quality. An auxiliary jack panel contains connectors for external power input, video output suitable for viewing on an external monitor, and a USB connection for
downloading stored images (future feature). The panel also provides power to an external laser pointer that can be attached to the unit.
